Here’s an inexpensive, easy way to get lots of fresh organic produce into your diet: organic food boxes. These boxes are usually delivered on a weekly or bi-weekly basis and include a variety of seasonal local organic produce - usually for less than what you’d pay in the grocery store.I receive a box I pick up from a community drop-off every two weeks from FoodShare, a local non-profit here in Toronto. If door-to-door service is more your style there’s Front Door Organics, Mama Earth Organics and Green Earth Organics.Look for something similar in your area, when local farmers will do this directly it is known as Community Supported Agriculture (CSA).Boxes from FoodShare start at $22 in Toronto.

I get a weekly organic food box from a local farmer, and I love it! It's introduced me to vegetables I never even knew existed, and it's forced me to be more adventurous in my cooking as I look up the best recipes to use with the wweeks vegetables. It's the best way to ensure you get the freshest produce weekly and get lots of variety in your diet. I'd recommend it to everyone who has an interest in healthy living!
